What is Expository Preaching?
Why do we do it?

Expository preaching (also referred to as systematic exposition) is a form of preaching that expounds upon the meaning of a particular text or passage of Scripture. Expository preaching differs from topical preaching in that the former concentrates on a specific text and discusses topics covered therein, whereas the latter concentrates on a specific topic and references texts covering the topic. source; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expository_preaching

The reason why Ancient City is commited to the exposition of God's word is because we believe that the Bible is the final authority on all matters in life. With this realization in mind we feel it neccesary to approach scripture in this way in order to to be faithful steward's of God's Holy Word. We look to 2 Timothy 4:2-3 as a needed reminder for the church today... keep sound doctrine in our churches. We need to simply let the Bible speak for itself by mining the riches of God's Word through verse-by-verse exposition, submitting to its authority, and applying it faithfully to our lives as servants of the Living God. It is by coming under the teaching and the instruction of God's Word that our lives will be changed... Hebrews 4:12. It is out hope and prayer that, by God's grace we become conformed to the image of His Son and remain salt and light to a lost and dying world... Matthew 5:13-14.
