A Word about Vacation Bible School for 2019

Construction Schedule Precludes Our Offering VBS This Summer

This is the time of the year when many churches, including ours, love to provide a special summer ministry for children, most often called Vacation Bible School! Many of us adults have wonderful memories of the Bible stories, comraderie, games, crafts, and more that we experienced as children attending VBS. In fact, for many of us, our decision to follow Jesus was initiated or solidified during the week of Vacation Bible School as we became more serious in our concentration on God and his love for us.

For this year only, however, we will not be able to provide our normal VBS experience. Portions of our facilities are in need of upgrade, maintenance, and repair, and we have for many months been preparing for this. Looking at our possible construction schedule, we realized that the work would likely be done mostly during this summer. Rather than risk having to cancel at the last minute due to the construction schedule, we decided that the wisest course of action would be NOT to schedule a VBS this particular summer.

During the school year beginning in August, we will once again offer a terrific ministry for children in grades K-6 called TeamKID that meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m., and we hope many of you can take advantage of that.

And we are already in process of planning a very special VBS event for next summer, called "29 A.D.: A Bibletimes Experience." Children will be taken back in time to the first century and experience the culture of the time of Jesus and the excitement that surrounded his ministry. Until then...
