Thank you for your desire to further the work of the gospel of Jesus through Ancient City Baptist Church! We are glad to offer you the convenience of online giving.
In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul wrote these words to believers about generosity in giving: “Here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. For if the willingness is these, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have” (1 Corinthians 8.10-12). He goes on to say, “Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (1 Corinthians 9.7).
I think all of us who love God and our neighbors desire to be generous givers. Paul acknowledges above that the people have that desire. He encourages them to match the desire in the fulfillment of it. In the larger passage from which this excerpt was taken, Paul gives good words of advice: from your desire, develop a plan. Give in proportion to your income. The benchmark of proportional giving as found in Scripture is the tithe—a tenth. Give as an act of worship—the “firstfruits” of what God has given you. When we give to God the firstfruits of his blessings to us, we acknowledge that he is indeed Lord of our lives. It is an act of faith as well: we trust that God will indeed, as the Scripture promises, “supply all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4.19). We give cheerfully when we remember that all we have has been given to us by him. Giving generously out of a thankful, cheerful heart is indeed an act of worship.
Thank you for partnering with us as we seek to truly be a community of faith, hope, and love that shares that faith, hope, and love with others. Without generous giving, we would not be able to fulfill the mission given to us by God to make disciples.
In today’s world, many of us have moved to doing more and more of our transactions online. And we offer you the security and convenience of giving tithes and offerings in this way. From our site, you can give one time or recurring gifts. Recurring gifts allow you to put your plan of giving into action, and you can add special gifts as you desire. You can change your plan at any time, and you can be confident that your giving is secure.
Gifts can be made in any of three ways:
- From your checking account (ACH)
(We encourage the ACH choice because it has a lower transaction fee to the church; if you do donate through the use of a credit card, you may want to add about 3% to cover the transaction fee the church incurs.)
- By credit or debit card
- By SMS/Text Giving (That is, from your phone)
To give through your checking account or by SMS/text, you must have an account. Through an account, you can sign in at any time to make a gift. If you desire to automate your offerings, recurring gifts can be set up. Of course, you can modify or cancel recurring gifts for the future by signing in and making those changes. Thank you again for your love and faithfulness.
You can give as a guest or without an account through the credit card option only.
