WMU INVITATION TO "TEA AT TWO"

Dear Ladies,

I know we are all so excited about our new pastor and his family arriving. We heard from Dr. David Wheat at the Meet and Greet in July. He shared his testimony and told us about his life. Now we have the opportunity to hear from Mrs. Jane Wheat.

On Saturday, August 28th, Jane will share her testimony with us and tell us what God is doing in her life. I know she is an integral part of David's ministry and as most wives, she is the glue that holds the family together.

Jane and David have been married over 28 years and have two children. Kelly is married and lives in Ohio and Jake is a freshman at St. Augustine High School.

You will see signup sheets for reservations on the bulletin board near the bins entering the Fellowship Hall and in the main Ladies' restroom. There will be a charge of $5.00 to cover food for the TEA. Reservations need to be complete by Sunday, August 28th. You may pay at the door. Please join us at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28th. A nursery will be available.

I know you will join me in welcoming the Wheat family and making them feel very welcome. God is doing GREAT things at Ancient City Baptist Church and we are so thankful. We give HIM all the glory!

WMU NEWS AND UPDATE, August 2010

Oh, ladies!

How blessed we were at our Ladies’ Retreat July 17th. There were 41 of us who were so touched by the heartfelt words of Sandy Czubiak and Cindy Clark. The Hilton did an outstanding job with the food and providing us a lovely room and good service. Thank you Sandy and Cindy! And thank you, Jane Wheat, for making the trip to be with us. It was such an honor to have you join us. I am so happy to see our ladies’ ministry grow! Praise the Lord.

Our ministry will now be supporting Cori McKerley (15) at the Florida Baptist Children’s Home in Jacksonville. Angelica Booker, Lakeland, was recently assigned to a foster home. Please continue to pray that God will bless these two girls. We will continue to support the Jacksonville Port Ministry through our monthly Love offering.

It is Load the School Bus time! Please bring in your school supplies to help children in our area who find it difficult to purchase the school supplies needed. Please place them in the bins outside the Fellowship Hall by Friday, July 30th. The Salvation Army will pick up the supplies.

I want to thank Myrtle Hollingsworth and Vickie Leese who provided our May and June meetings with inspirational messages. We had 26 ladies at each meeting. Thank YOU each for blessing us in such a wonderful way.

And ladies, I ask you to mark your calendar for Saturday, August 28 for “TEA AT TWO” to honor our new pastor’s wife, Mrs. Jane Wheat. Reservations will be needed for this event; more info to follow. Jane will share her testimony with us and maybe even share more information about her family. This will be a great time to get to know her and make her feel welcome at ACBC.

Thank you again for supporting this ministry and please continue to pray that our ladies’ ministry will glorify our God.
